Looking at the trailer, I thought this was gonna be like another How to Train Your Dragon 2. They ruined everything by giving a major spoiler in the trailer, which was Hiccup finally met his mother. Even after watching it, the story was not getting better, only more characters introduced but still the prequel was a lot better.
This 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' follows the similar path. More characters and a major spoiler of Star-Lord’s father. But then I watched it and this appeared to be a far better execution How To Train Your Dragon 2 couldn’t achieved.
'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' brought more characters and they’re not just a complement to the movie. Each one of them has a story to tell, a struggle to be fought, a challenge to be faced, all in one performance you’d think is just another action-comedy movie. No, there’s also an emotional side. A twist in the ending that was unexpected, thus made this movie more than just a superhero movie.
The psychedelic visual contradicted the classic and on point selections of soundtrack (‘Father and Son’ was my favourite) made this movie a great pleasure to watch.
After Logan and this, maybe we could assume Marvel Studios has finally paid more attention on the quality side rather than purely on the commercial side only.
'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' is directed by James Gunn, starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff and Kurt Russell.
